We are Toddington Nursery School

We provide children from 1 to 5 years old a safe, encouraging, friendly and caring environment to learn and develop.

About Us

Situated next to the village hall in the peaceful village of Toddington, the School has a bright, happy and airy atmosphere inside and a fully enclosed play area outside to provide a healthy balance of outdoor fun. We also benefit from being able to take the children on wonderful nature walks and to explore the local area (with parent’s permission).

The School was established in 2011 in nearby Dumbleton Village Hall. Thanks to the incredible growth and success it has achieved, we opened in Toddington in 2017 to provide more places for children and purpose-built premises that enable us to offer the best nursery and childcare experience in the area.

Our caring and enthusiastic team at Toddington Nursery School work in partnership with parents to help children learn and develop. We provide a happy, safe and fun environment for your child and care for their individual needs and development.

We are open 51 weeks of the year, Monday to Friday from 8am-6:00pm

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

Toddington Nursery School follows the EYFS. This is designed to help early years practitioners to provide appropriate play experiences to enable children to develop in all areas. It enables staff to recognise your child’s strengths and areas they need more support to develop new skills. It ensures a consistent approach to care and learning from birth to the end of the Foundation Stage and has a play based approach.

Our Approach

Environment & Experience

Toddlers and young children are ready to learn, develop, grow in different and increasingly complex and co-ordinated ways. Children flourish when the adults around them make sure the environment in which they are cared for actively stimulates this progress. This environment is more than just the physical area they play and learn in and includes all the important elements they need to thrive. Our approach provides this and enables childen to grow, learn, make choices, develop their interests and their autonomy.

Caring & Loving

No-one else can love your children like you do but our aim is to get close! We’ve built a team on our values and ensure these are upheld. As well as the theoretical knowledge of how children learn and develop, our team are fantastic at playing and have the lovely and natural nurturing instinct that makes children feel genuinely loved and valued. This helps babies and young children to feel secure and confident in their environment and makes learning easier.

Safe & Secure

You want your children to always be safe and secure and this is our highest priority . All of our team are CRB checked and undertake child protection and paediatric first aid training. They follow comprehensive policies and procedures  designed to keep children safe. And, we help our children, using age-appropriate activities, stories, discussions and role modelling, to learn how to keep themselves safe.

learning & growing

Our aim is to help your children to make great progress in the six areas of the EYFS. We develop our relationships with the children to learn what they know and can do and what they’re interested in. We use this knowledge to target and plan the steps in their individual learning. Our team has a deep understanding and background of how children learn and develop and the high-quality equipment and resources to support the teaching.

Happy & Fun

Toddington Nursery School is a happy, sociable and stimulating place full of fun, laughter, energy and, very importantly,  encouragement. When you visit us, you’ll understand the wonderful, happy experience we provide. It’s the beautiful sound of delighted, totally engaged children laughing,  having fun who are growing and learning through their play.

I cannot praise Kate and the team enough. The care, nurturing, fun and activity has helped develop my son into a bouncing, confident, happy and engaged child. He runs in in the morning and often wants to stay when it’s time to go home. He has made wonderful friends amongst both the staff and the other children.
