We provide challenging and exciting learning opportunities for children through, role play, imaginative play, construction, creative mark making, puzzles, books and games, allowing children to have free exploration and choices.
These are anything from creative to reading activities where the adult will plan an activity that may be just outside a child’s developmental stage to see what support they need and if they can progress to the next stage.
We are lucky enough to have our own Forest School on site. Pre-School children take part in Forest School every Tuesday from 1 to 3pm and Little Explorers have ‘Muddy Mondays’.
This gives children the opportunity to share stories, songs, making music, discussions and conversation about what they have done and what they would like to do as well as sharing and talking about items bought in from home, topics and experiences.
All children love to play and learn outdoors and who children find it hard to concentrate indoors find it much easier to learn outdoors. We include outdoor play and learning sessions and will carry these out in all weathers and at different times of the day.
Each child in Little Explorers has a Commination Dairy that gives parents information about their child’s day and space for parents/carers to write about what their child has done/achieved at home.
We want your child to feel happy and safe with us. To make sure that both you and your child are completely happy at Toddington Nursery School,, our staff will work closely with you to decide on how to help your child settle into their new environment.
We follow an extensive set of policies and procedures that include: accident procedure, medication procedure, fire procedure, child protection, and many more. A summary of these is given to parents at the settling in stage with full documentation available to view at any time.
